Paolo Cavallone
Paolo Cavallone (b. 1975) has been described as “a major composer of today’s music scene… [whose] diversity of writing is marked by a quest for openness of possibilities” (Putsch) and “a pioneer in the creation of new compositional concepts” (Italia News). His works—called “authentic jewels” by Italia Oggi—have been performed worldwide, including at New York’s Merkin Hall, Los Angeles’ Zipper Hall, Florence’s Teatro Verdi, Rome’s Auditorium Parco della Musica, and the Festival de Tres Cantos (Madrid), and many others.He has collaborated with artists and ensembles such as Rohan De Saram, Pascal Gallois, Magnus Andersson, Roberto Fabbriciani, Orchestra della Toscana, Orchestre National de Bretagne, Mitteleuropa Orchestra, Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain, Stroma ensemble, and Quartetto Guadagnini. His music is published by RAI Com and MEP, recorded on Tactus and Albany Records, and broadcast by RAI, Radio France, and Radio New Zealand.Also active as a poet and filmmaker, Cavallone released the animated film Magasin de métaphores and the poetry collection Suoni ulteriori (2024). A recipient of the “Ambassador of Culture in the World” award from the Region of Abruzzo (2022), he is Professor of Composition at the Conservatorio “Benedetto Marcello” in Venice.
